I’ve got to be honest with you, it feels a little strange writing about myself. But I’ll do my best so you can get a feel for who I am.

My name’s Lochie. I’ve been tattooing for over five years now. I started out working in shops around Melbourne before making my way over to Ballarat.

These days, me and my partner Bridge run Lovers Den Tattoo Studio together. We’ve also got two little ones at home keeping us on our toes.

I’ve always loved tattoos, art, and alternative culture. But for a while, I wasn’t sure where I fit in (with life and tattoos). I experimented with different styles like fineline, micro-realism, neo-traditional, etc. but I always found myself drawn back to etching, stipple and illustrative work. That’s the kind of art I’d always admired, but for a long time I was too scared to really go down that path.

I was scared of putting myself out there, of being criticised, of being judged. It wasn’t until I pushed past that fear that I finally found myself doing what I love most. And honestly, finding that freedom has been the best part of my journey. But I also wouldn’t change the path that led me here.

What I love most is capturing the wild, darker side of life and turning it into something beautiful.

My approach to tattooing is pretty simple: I only take on one client per day. Whether it’s a tiny piece or a full day project, you’ll have my full focus. I see tattooing as more than just ink in skin. It’s art, self-expression, and an experience. I’m always happy to resize, reposition, or tweak designs in the studio so everything feels right for you from start to finish.
